Spring offers the perfect walking conditions, with sunny but cooler weather (hopefully!), and vibrant blooms like bluebells and daffodils bringing the countryside to life. It’s the ideal season for scenic strolls and plenty of photo opportunities.

Whether you’re seeking lakeside paths, coastal routes, or woodland walks, here are my top picks for spring adventures across the UK.

Clumber Park, Nottinghamshire

Best for: Beautiful gardens and doggy paddles

Clumber Park is ideal for springtime dog walks, offering a beautiful walled garden filled with flowers, daffodils, and peaceful lake views. The Lakeside Walk (4 miles) is an easy, scenic trail, perfect for a leisurely stroll.

Dog-friendly highlights:
✅ 3,800 acres to explore
✅ Dedicated dog-friendly café
✅ Well-maintained paths for all walking abilities

Lower and Upper Slaughter, The Cotswolds

Best for: Charming villages and pub stops

The Slaughters are some of the most picturesque villages in the Cotswolds, and a springtime walk between Lower and Upper Slaughter is a must. The River Eye runs through both villages, with quaint stone cottages, lush meadows, and charming bridges making this a scenic and peaceful dog walk.

Derwent Water, Lake District

Best for: Lakeside walks and stunning views of the surrounding fells

Spring in the Lake District is breathtaking, and Derwent Water is one of the best places for a dog-friendly walk. Surrounded by woodlands and fells, the lakeside trail (10 miles) offers a mix of open paths, wooded areas, and scenic views.
